Sumak
The Sumaks are a complex flat weave, which flourished mainly in the Caucasus. Most of them were made in Shirvan and Kuba.
Our Kuba Sumak has a most uncommon sand color ground and bears 3 complete rhomboid medallions flanked by 4 pairs of octagonal secondary medallions. Typical meander border with a characteristic “running dog” outer guard border.
Very good condition according to age.
