Sumak
The Sumaks are a complex flat weave, which flourished mainly in the Caucasus. Most of them were made in Shirvan and Kuba. Our red ground Shirvan Sumak bears 3 complete central medallions flanked by halves and quarters of the same. Its meander border is typical of the end of the 19th century pieces in that region. Very good condition according to age.
