Zili Sultan
The Zili Sultan carpets were made in Abadeh district in western Persia. They are a very small group of carpets, having both a distinctive “Senneh like” weave and a narrow design repertoire.
The finely woven ones are extremely elegant and second to none. This particular carpet is one of the most beautiful examples made around 1880. The cream ground allows the colorful flower pots and the adorning stylized birds to show the brilliance of a wonderful palette, chosen by an undoubtedly master manufacturer.
