Parmakli Kilim
This impressive 19th century central Anatolian kilim, possibly made in Karapinar, bears four compartments containing an equal number of concentric elongated medallions, resulting in long finger like lines, called “parmak” meaning palm of a hand in Turkish, hence the name “parmakli”. This type of kilims belongs to a very small group, but at the same time to one of the oldest in history. Besides being highly decorative, this small kilim is in exceptionally good condition.
